Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, written by Rick Riordan, is a 2005 fantasy-adventure novel for kids, based on Greek myths. It's the first book in the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series and was named one of the best children's books of the year.

I received this project early in my time at Montserrat. Our task was to redesign a classic book cover while keeping its original spirit. I chose to focus on the intriguing world of Percy Jackson and tease the story that’s within the cover. For example, I included the Empire State building and the transforming pen-sword on the cover because they’re both major focal points for the story.

I illustrated every visual part of the cover, except for the text of course, to show my creativity and artistic abilities that I have spent the better part of my life sharpening.
