About Me
Hey there! My name is Katie Capobianco, also known as my artist handle, Lxvendula (“liks-ven-doo-luh”). I am a Graphic Designer and Illustrator with my Bachelor of Fine Art with a concentration in Graphic Design from Montserrat College of Art.
I'm an open, kind, and adaptable artist who learns fast and works well under pressure. I follow guidelines closely and enjoy adding thoughtful design and detail in small spaces. I especially like book covers and layouts, but also love posters and editorial designs. I try to bring my illustration skills into nearly all of my projects, whether through images, custom icons, or small decorative touches, while staying flexible to different creative needs.
Originally, I’m from a small town in upstate New York, and I’m also a very proud cat mom to a calico named Gracie and a basset mix named Finn. As a graphic designer and an illustrator, I enjoy blending both of my skills in my work and letting each practice complement the other. It’s a rewarding creative process that continually encourages me to explore new techniques, refine my approach, and push the boundaries of visual storytelling.
My artist handle, Lxvendula, comes from the scientific word for lavender, lavandula. Both the color and the plant of lavender are my favorite and I’ve always felt drawn to them. When deciding my artist name, I wanted something that felt lavender-adjacent, and lavandula fit perfectly. To make it my own, I slightly altered the spelling. I’ve been told that the altered name may be hard to pronounce so just saying “lavandula” works just as well.
These are my fur babies, Gracie Lynn and Finn (Bubs). They mean more than the world to me. I couldn’t make an about me section without indlucing them.
