Azalea

I find a lot of enjoyment creating characters and Azalea is just one of a few of my fully fleshed-out characters. I created her years ago and she’s one of my go-to characters to doodle or use as a warm-up before longer drawing sessions. For this piece, I wanted to push my rendering abilities with this by using dramatic colors and many light sources which is not a typical thing for me, especially to this extent. However, I am so happy with how it came out that since then, this has become a regular way of rendering for me.

This piece in particular is a redraw of one of the pieces that got me accepted to my college. I redraw old works occasionally to see how much my skill has progressed and this one in particular is so interesting to compare to my old piece.
